Stressbusters: Going from Chaos to Calm

The "Stressbusters" workshop is for anyone who interacts with and works with children of all ages. Participants experience practical strategies to manage stress and enhance their well-being.

  • Understand the short- and long-term effects of stress on the mind and body

  • Discover how the nervous system functions and how it responds in high-stress situations

  • Walk away with techniques for guiding themselves and students in to a state of equilibrium

Social Emotional Learning (SEL): The Yes, And! Classroom

This interactive, dynamic presentation or workshop series offers practical, easily implementable SEL (Social Emotional Learning) tools and techniques to use right away with your classroom or small group.

Participants will:

  • Experience the efficacy of using enjoyable, applied improv activities to improve relationships and build self-confidence

  • Learn how applied improv encourages flexibility, resilience, ability to work in groups, and willingness to try new things while inspiring a culture of belonging

  • Gain unique mindfulness tools to teach students how to quiet thoughts, regulate emotions, and bring themselves back to the present moment, ready to learn!

Trauma-Aware Teaching

This experiential presentation and workshop helps educators identify dysregulated behaviors associated with trauma. They learn effective strategies to bring students from reactiveness into responsiveness. The strategies presented align with and support existing SEL programs and restorative practices.

Participants will:

  • Acquire skills to identify trauma-related behaviors and gain insight into the physiology of trauma

  • Understand the misconceptions associated with trauma that complicate student-teacher relationships

  • Learn to incorporate trauma aware strategies into the classroom to increase students' self-regulation and decrease referrals and suspensions

  • Become aware of "Post Traumatic Wisdom”

Neurodivergence: We All Belong

Imagine kids not afraid of peers who are different. What if all kids felt like they belong? This workshop explores how neurodivergent students experience the world around them and how to best support them.

Participants will:

  • Gain a better understanding of neurodiversity including characteristics for many of the common neurodiverse conditions

  • Learn effective modifications and strategies for both the classroom and for families at home

  • Recognize fundamental differences in the way neurodiverse people process shared social and environmental space

  • Discover how strategically applied improv exercises help neurodiverse people feel safe, build self-esteem, connect productively with others, and build community

  • Learn how to cultivate an inclusive school environment through compassionate empathy and perspective-taking

  • Gain new tools for supporting emotional self-regulation for both adults and student
